Language Week at St George’s School
St George’s School recently held a Language Week for its primary students. Teachers and students celebrated together with many fun activities.
Students joined handwriting and colouring contests, storytelling, arts and crafts, quizzes, and scavenger hunts. These activities helped students enjoy learning English and Malay.
At the end of the week, the whole school came together for performances and friendly competitions. Many students wore costumes of their favourite book characters.
The programme gave both lower and upper primary students a chance to join in. The Malay Department organised spelling, speeches, and storytelling, while the English Department had spelling bees, games, quizzes, and challenges.
School leaders gave prizes to the winners. There were also special awards for the best costumes—one boy and one girl from each group.
Language Week showed how words, stories, and culture can bring students and teachers together.
